Vape Flavor Categories, Explained: Fruit, Berry, Tropical, Mint & Ice, Candy, Dessert, Drinks and Tobacco
Every flavor sold across our 41 brands belongs to one of 13 families. This page is the map: how big each family is, which brands make it, which flavor is the most widely copied inside it, and how sweet or cold the family runs on our panel's five-axis scale. The numbers come from the catalog at build time, so they move as brands add and drop flavors. If you know the family you like and want the individual flavor decoded, the flavor decoder lists every named flavor with its tasting note.

The default category. Watermelon, peach, grape, apple, cherry and melon in single-fruit or two-fruit form, usually with a cooling agent when the word Ice is attached. Fruit flavors are where every brand puts its bestseller, which is why Watermelon Ice is the single most widely made flavor in our catalog. Panel notes on fruit flavors turn on two things: whether the fruit reads as fresh or as candy, and how much ice sits on top. Sweetness runs mid-scale; iciness depends entirely on the name.

Strawberry, blueberry, raspberry, blackberry and the blue razz family. Berry is the largest family in the catalog by flavor count because brands stack berries into pairs: Blueberry Watermelon, Strawberry Kiwi, Blackberry Blueberry. Blue Razz Ice is the anchor flavor, made by more brands than any other berry, and it is a candy blue-raspberry rather than a real fruit. Expect the tartest profiles in the fruit group here.

Mango, pineapple, passion fruit, guava, lychee, coconut, banana and dragon fruit. Tropical flavors carry the most body of any family, meaning the vapor feels thick and juicy rather than light, and they are usually made without ice so the ripeness comes through. Strawberry Banana and Mexico Mango lead the family. Tropical is also where the exotic single fruits live: lychee, guava and dragon fruit appear here first before brands blend them into mixed names.

The sweetest family after dessert and lemonade, with the least ice. Candy names are recreations of specific products, so the panel note usually names the candy: Jolly Rancher, Gushers, Sour Patch. Sour Apple Ice is the exception that carries cooling.
